blessing box Easton PA lehigh valley hunger mission boy scouts of america church

This past spring FPCE’s Mission Team learned that the Lehigh Valley Business Group, working with a local Eagle Scout, was offering to install Blessing Boxes throughout the Lehigh Valley. Several had already been constructed, free of charge, in Easton. These boxes are ‘mini’ food pantries where families or individuals struggling to have enough to eat can find non-perishable foods right in their neighborhood. Session approved its installation, and the Blessing Box was added to our garden.

We will be dedicating our new Blessing Box on Sunday, September 19 at the end of the worship service. Peg Opthof has agreed to be the Blessing Box Coordinator for 2021 and a sign up sheet will be available on September 19 to sign up to stock the Blessing Box!

Mason Kessler, Eagle Scout Candidate, made and installed our Blessing Box in the front garden. It would be wonderful if Scouts from our congregation would wear their uniform and be part of the dedication! Eagle Scouts that have aged out of scouting and Leaders are invited and encouraged to wear their uniform and help celebrate Mason’s accomplishment.
